These projects explore the intricate process of translating sacred texts while emphasizing the interpretive nature of this work. By examining various translation methodologies, cultural contexts, and theological implications, we gain a deeper understanding of how translation shapes our comprehension of biblical narratives.

Bible translations project
The rhetoric around Scripture as ‘God-breathed’ or ‘inspired’ often leads to the assumption that Scripture has not experienced significant changes since its canonization. However, the significant differences in English translations alone has led to the construction of various versions (KJV, NRSV, NIV, etc.). This project identifies the differences between bible versions—between both different translations (NIV vs NASB) and various editions of the same translation (NASB 1995 vs NASB 2020)—and considers the role of various socio-political in their translations.

the hebrew bible
Utilizing a verse-by-verse approach, this project shows a breakdown of translations of the Hebrew Bible, or the Old Testament. Its aim is to raise awareness of the role interpretation plays in the process of biblical translation by breaking down the Hebrew verse word-by-word and providing explanations on its vocabulary and usage.

This project focuses on the translation of controversial and often weaponized Bible verses. By examining the Hebrew and Greek, it seeks to highlight the nuances and interpretations of key passages, fostering deeper engagement with the text.
